Start of the fall season. The real sports season starts.

Warning: Long blog post ahead, deep breathly :)

The fall season officially started last Saturday. In Vancouver, the weather is still warm in the mornings but getting to be a little "nipplier" at night. Fall season also means cold weather, short days, school for most people, and body going into hibernation mode. Argghh, it's getting harder to wake up in the morning.

The "real" sports season also starts in fall - Vancouver Canucks hockey, NBA and college basketball. The baseball playoffs and the World Series are also coming on October. To end the golf season, Europe dominates the US in the Ryder Cup again - 18.5 - 9.5. It didn't matter that Tiger Woods was playing for the US

Canucks Hockey

GO CANUCKS GO! It's just the preseason but the Nucks haven't won in preseason yet. In his first game against the Sharks, Luongo got scored on the first goal he faced. Lol, I actually predicted that! It came from a mistake by our highly touted rookie defenseman, Luc Bourdon, that left Luongo all alone against Milan Michalek. We now face the Ducks in GM Place later on tonight. We played the Ducks on Friday and got plastered, 5-1

For all our preseason games, however, we didn't play full strength. The Sedins played against the Sharks, while Naslund and Morrison played against the Ducks. The coach is using the preseason to see who will stick on the team and it's too early to gauge the Nucks team until they play all their regulars at the same time. Some of our young players are doing well this preseason - Brandon Reid and Grabner.

NBA

GO ROCKETS!!! Like them ever since they drafted Yao Ming and much more when they acquired TMac. TMac is much more humble, and more of a team player than his counterparts, Vince Carter and Kobe. His shot selection can be shaky at times but still finds ways to make it, much like Kobe.

Toronto Raptors This team has a good foundation. Bargnani was drafted first overall and gave the Raptors reason to let go of Villanueva. The Raptors needed a PG so they got TJ Ford in exchange. Is Bargnani worth giving away Villanueva? I would have liked to see a Bargnani, Bosh, and Villanueva frontcourt lineup. TJ Ford ain't that great. I hope I am wrong.

Other teams I am glad Miami won last year and would like to see them do well again this year. Wade is a great player. Heck I even learned to like Shaq. It was Kobe I didn't like (and still don't! Jordan copycat). The Spurs, I still like them but they are TOO BORING! Can't stand to watch them sometimes, but they are effective with that style of play. It will be interesting to see how the Pistons do this year. They lost a lot by giving away Ben Wallace.

Well that's it for this long blog for now.

Go Nucks! Go Rockets! Go Heat! Go Raptors!
